Editorial Policy
The editorial standard at Northline Wisconsin is straightforward: Give the story room to breathe, identify the evidence and make the context easy to follow.
Evidence before publication
Check names, dates, quotations, figures and the rights to text and photographs. Do not invent missing information. Owner-supplied announcements and opinion should be recognizable as such; a promotional claim needs attribution.
Original context
We preserve source publication dates where available. Old event notices are not current announcements. A photograph must represent its subject honestly and have useful alternative text.
Editing and accountability
Assisted drafting is subject to editorial review. AI is not a source and rewriting does not grant republication rights. Material factual concerns are assessed against the available evidence; see Corrections for the process.
